AutobiographyThe purpose of this project is to create an artwork that expresses your identity (who you are, what you like, your experiences, etc) in a visually interesting way.
Artists used their knowledge of the elements of art (line, shape, color), experience with different mediums (marker, colored pencil, collage, pen) and artist inspirations (Kandinsky, Matisse, Arp, Thomas, Mutu) to create their own artwork. |
|
Half & HalfArtists utilize contour line drawing exercises to accurately draw the contour of one image half and use appropriate tools and techniques to match tonal qualities and textures.
Artists study value and form and use artist's tools such as blending stumps, a range of drawing pencils, and kneaded erasers to create the other half of their found image. Artists learn drawing techniques from artist inspirations, including: Kelvin Okafor and Ian Sklarsky. |

Monochromatic PortraitArtists designed a self portrait that shows a specific characteristic or emotion while using a monochromatic color pallet. Artist's explored artist, Chuck Close's work and learned how to use a grid to copy an original image accurately.
